Seventh MoonSeventh Moon (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.40

Plot: According to an ancient Chinese myth, on the full moon of the seventh lunar month, the gates of hell open and the dead are freed to roam among the living. While honeymooning in China, a young newlywed couple takes part in a sacred event that honors these spirits. Unfortunately their enthusiasm borders on mockery and their disagreeable charm ends in angry glances among the locals. As night falls, their tour guide abandons them in a desolate field. What they thought was a joke is becoming far too real as they fight to survive the night of the Seventh Moon.

My SDA friends and foes,, Do you not know that the very first Feast day of God, IS the seventh day sabbath?
THEREFORE IF YOU USE COL.2:16 TO DO AWAY WITH HIS FEAST DAYS, YOU ARE ALSO DOING AWAY WITH THE SEVENTH DAY, WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath:

Lev 23:2 the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
My Point. #1 i am a sabbath keeper, most sda’s know this.
# 2, SDA’s use this verse to do away with the Feast days, as do sunday keepers to do away with both seventh day and Feast days.
The point is if you use this to do away with His Feast, then plainly it does away with the seventh day also.

Point is, most of you don’t understand what exactly is being said in Col.
Paul is speaking to the Saints who indeed are keeping all of these days. Col 1:2 … He is tellings his fellow saints not to let the world around them judge them in keeping these commandments of God.

I didn’t know that SDA’s thought that and I’ve been one for 40 years. My dad was an SDA minister until his death 10 years ago. I think that we should study the feasts and what they meant, but am not convinced that as a non Jew that I should be "keeping" them. There was a study done by Doug Batchelor?(I think it was him) about the feasts and how they corresponded to periods of time in earth’s history. and how the last of the feasts doesn’t yet have a corresponding historical event. The only "law" that was "done away with" is our need to sacrifice animals since Jesus is THE perfect sacrifice.

Yes, and that would make it a High Holy Sabbath instead of A Holy Sabbath…it is still the 7th day Sabbath…

Remember The Sabbath Day and keep it Holy…

And your point is???

What was Paul trying to tell the people?

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:"

Each one of these points were something that someone would accuse the true believers of disobeying. Not keeping the Sabbath exactly as the accuser thinks it should be, drinking alcohol or eating non kosher meats etc.
What Paul seems to be saying is to obey Torah and live by the commandments, which tell us what meat we can eat (not pig), that alcohol is good just don’t let it control you, that the feast days are still to be observed and that the new moon is something that we should be celebrating (this is a confusing one though) and that the Sabbath is still the 7th day and that it is a feast day, but it is NOT a high feast day like Shavuot or First Fruits. That does not make it any less important though.

These are things that will be kept in the Millenium as well. This kinda puts a damper on "the law was done away with " theory!

Don’t be calling SDA’s your friends when you’re overgeneralizing against them, accusing them, and I read how you’ve intentionally blocked an SDA from answering your questions because you’ve got bad behavior to hide. With "friends" like you, you make the devil look friendly and who needs such enemies? Otherwise…

You’re also being legalistic when all you do is preach on points of Law. If you’re not asked about your faith (and, believe me, you weren’t asked), then the only thing you’re safe in preaching on is Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. You shouldn’t be preaching your other points of faith (unless asked). The Apostle Paul knew this well. Why don’t you?

Rom. 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

Now, you can argue context all you want, but the point remains. Doctrines about food and drink are as much doctrines as those concerning days, months, and years. Now, you’ve called my faith into question so, by answer, I’ll point out that, by God’s Law, if you drink alcohol, eat unclean flesh foods, or even eat clean flesh foods with the blood or the fat still in it, then you’re still guilty of breaking God’s Law. The Feast days aren’t the only things that did NOT end at the Cross.

You and the Lone Ranger better get your act together.

You may very well be right.

So I will use this one…..

Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear [them]. (Isaiah 1:14)

God sanctified the Sabbath, so I know it is not this holy day He hates. Your other "feasts" however………..God is the same today, yesterday and forever, and He said He hates them….that is enough for me. I choose not to "trouble" Him further.

On a side note, have you thought as to why you consider some of the SDA people "foes"? Have you been antagonizing people unnecessarily? Have you accused people of being ignorant or "not understanding" based upon your own personal assumptions? Have you ignored evidence against your ideas?

These are rhetorical questions, I already know the answers

p.s. I have never seen you say a thing about Jesus Christ in any of your questions. All I ever see is this stuff about the feasts. Perhaps you think that keeping these days will save you. As for me, Christ Jesus will remain above any considerations.

Most of us that keep the Sabbath understand that it was established on the 7th day of creation week. Very few understand that the times for the Feasts of the Lord were also set at that time.

Gen 1:14

(GNB) Then God commanded, "Let lights appear in the sky to separate day from night and to show the time when days, years, and religious festivals begin;

(KJV) And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

(KJV+) And GodH430 said,H559 Let there beH1961 lightsH3974 in the firmamentH7549 of the heavenH8064 to divideH914 H996 the dayH3117 fromH996 the night;H3915 and let them beH1961 for signs,H226 and for seasons,H4150 and for days,H3117 and years:H8141

From H3259; properly an appointment, that is, a fixed time or season; specifically a festival; conventionally a year; by implication, an assembly (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand): - appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast, (appointed, due) season, solemn (-ity), synagogue, (set) time (appointed).

It is the same word that is used in the commandment to Israel:

As a non SDA I admire them for keeping the 7th Day Sabbath and their healthy diet.

Although in my opinion according to Scripture and the NT writings you cannot restrict a worshiper of YHVH from eating clean animal flesh or drinking wine.

> If our Creator did not want His people to eat animal flesh He would not have given them the instructions in regarding the clean animals.

Gen 18:7 Abraham also ran to the herd, and took a tender and choice calf, and gave it to the servant; and he hurried to prepare it.

> If our Creator wanted His people to abstain from wine the Messiah would not have performed the miracle of changing water into wine.

Gen 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High.

Heb 6:20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

When YHVH tells His people to keep His Sabbaths He is not speaking only of the 7th Day but also His annual Sabbaths.

Lev 19:3 ‘Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am YHVH your God.

> For those who take hold of the covenant with YHVH there is neither "Jew" nor "Gentile", our Creator is not partial.

Mal 2:7 For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the TORAH at his mouth: for he is the messenger of YHVH of hosts.
Mal 2:8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the TORAH; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith YHVH of hosts.
Mal 2:9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the TORAH.
Mal 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

BTW Call us Feast keepers "legalistic" though we choose to follow one Lawgiver who is our Creator, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Isa 33:22 For YHVH is our judge, YHVH is our lawgiver, YHVH is our king; He will save us–
