Have you had Sudden Unintended Acceleration with a Hyundai? Similar to the current Toyota problems.?
Last year our Hyundai Santa Fe took off like a Formula One car from a near standstill whilst being parked, crashing through a closed garage door and into the rear wall, doing extensive damage to vehicle and property, and causing some personal injury. Luckily no-one was killed, but if someone had been opening the garage door …… they would have been history. Despite an independent engineer’s opinion that it was a Hyundai manufacturing and/or service failure they just don’t want to know, and worse still they denied that they had ever heard of a similar situation occurring before. Now that the whole Toyota debacle is out in the open the subject of Sudden Unintended Acceleration is getting proper attention - seems it has been the subject of an automotive industry cover up for decades. Unethical doesn’t even come close to covering their behaviour and they should be found guilty of manslaughter where fatalities occur, and liable to punitive damages also. There can be a whole range of causes and there is a lot of information published, but it is NOT driver error in the vast majority of cases. The only thing that is certain is that if it occurs there is nothing the driver can do about it. The manufacturers, not just Toyota, must be held accountable for safety. We know of a number of Hyundai incidents but would like to hear more.
all cars can do this, but cause toyota is a big company they have to make a big deal about it,my brother is in the middel of a lawsuit with ford cause his ford flex did the same thing,to me toyotas are still the best cars out there, sorry buy hyundais are known to have issues as well, safty issues just like all other cars, honda just recalled Fits for catching on fire, personally id rather a corolla that creeps forward than a car that lights up all of a sudden, call the goverment and see if they make a big deal about it like they did toyota

Most often the nut behind the steering wheel is responsible for the acceleration you will find. Intended or otherwise.

Your comment that "if it occurs there is nothing the driver can do about it" is the most stupid and ignorant thing that I’ve ever read!!! Think about it…how do you stop a car? You can use the foot brake, emergency brake or best, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL! I amazed how many ignorant people can’t take some responsibility for saving themselves in an emergency. Putting the car in neutral won’t over rev the engine because it has an electronic rev limiter. Also, you won’t lose the power steering or brakes. All you have to do is to "bump" the transmission from drive to neutral. This takes 1/2 of a second! You are a lawyers dream client. Make sure he gets 90% of the settlement!

The way you’re writing indicates you’re a lawyer. How much you’re looking for? Got some change in my pocket cuz that all you’ll get. Hyundai doesn’t have this problem. They don’t use the same supplier as Toyota. Get a better story and try other manufacturer but Hyundai or KIA. LOL about your story. Was funny.

1st, They do not use CTS pedal.
2nd, They do not use outsourced parts as many as Toyota.

According to NHTSA safety complaints database.
sudden-acceleration incidents (2008 model-year data)
No.1 Toyota : 41%(Share of complaints)
No.2 Ford : 28%
No.3 Chrysler : 9%
No.4 General Motors : 5%
No.5 Honda : 4%
No.6 Nissan : 3%
Unintended Acceleration from Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, GM, Honda, Nissan are much more than Hyundai. Hyundai is almost zero. (i’m not sure, but certainly smaller than Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, GM, Honda, Nissan)
