So you really think this "man" is up to being chancellor?
A little extract:
David Buik, senior analyst at brokers BGC Partners, said: "I find it quite extraordinary that his only experience, in terms of business, industry or commerce, has been as a speechwriter at Tory Central Office and that he should be the chosen person to be the next Chancellor.
EMPIRE
"It’s frightening. And I say this as an obsessed Conservative. You have got to have some experience of life."
Last November a senior Tory councillor launched an astonishing attack on the Shadow Cabinet, his prime target being Osborne.
Stephen Greenhalgh, leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council and named Local Hero of the Year in 2008 by the Conservative Home website, said: "My mates are all in the Shadow Cabinet, waiting to get those ministerial boxes, being terribly excited. I went to university with them - they haven’t run a p***-up in a brewery.
"They’re going to get a department of state, in one case running the finances of the nation."

Mac - I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.
Last week on 5 live when asked what he would have done differently than Alistair Darling during the recession he said he would have cut the deficit… She was gobsmacked to say the least. During a recession when every other nation was supporting the economy he would have paid off the deficit.
No Bank Bailout, No car scrappage, no stimulus = millions on the dole, cuts in NHS, education, defence, freezing pensioners leading to a recession not seen in this country ever. Our GDP would have been in free fall, our economy would have sank quicker than the Titantic and interest rates on what we did owe would have gone sky high meaning we would owe more than we do now.
The man is a joke - he has no idea, my 8 year old could do better than him

George Osbourne I believe will make a great Chancellor, however only time will tell, give him the opportunity if he fails, vote him out!
Gordon Brown was the most incompetent Chancellor this country has ever ever seen, he singlehandedly destroyed the economy.
He further put the knife in when he bacame PM.
Do you really think Ed Balls will do anything if he gets to be chancellor!! Yes he will he will financially cripple this country more than Brown ever did.
I would trust an untrained chimp with an abacus over any wreckless and incompetent Labour politician!
Labour cannot be trusted!
PS THe Mirror is your source!!! God help you!!

You and the Daily Scumbag have about as much credibilty as Blair!
edit - bet you’re regretting starting this one as well!

Yes he probably will , which is why the mirror attack him so vociferously on behalf of the government.
Business leaders look forward to him becoming chancellor (including the dragons from dragon’s den, incidentally) because he talks much more sense and seems to actually understand what needs doing - unlike Brown or Darling.

He’s more than capable of being Chancellor… definately more capable than Gormless Gordon + the Badger in No.11 (Alistair Darling) could ever hope to be.
He’s also got people like Ken Clarke (former Chancellor before Gormless Gordon took over, who left the economy heading towards being in tip top shape before Gormless Gordon cocked everything up again) + other former Chancellors (e.g. Lord Nigel Lawson) to call upon if he needs to.
Then of course there’s also John Redwood in the Conservative party too to call upon, and Redwood’s been the most accurate commentator on the economy in his excellent blog @ http://www.johnredwoodsdiary.com throughout the financial crisis.
Phillip Hammond MP (currently the Conservative’s Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury) is showing some good potential as well lately. He’ll likely be working alongside Osbourne.
